In lowly waters
Remember to close your eyes
And let air seep through your skin
Dancing to every rhythm of life
In rocky times
Remember that things are temporary
And this too shall pass
The longing to pass through tunnels
To get through the Nile
Through battle storms
And get to the other side
Whatever that means to you
The other side of sorrow
The other side of hopelessness
The other side of distraught
In times when your heart is beating slowly
Remember to rest
Don’t give up but rest
Don’t throw in the towel
Allow the moments to pass in the pain
But also allow healing to come with time
In times of dark moments
Remember that there is light
Remember that seasons will come and go
Remember that being planted
Can often feel like you’re buried
But in the darkness
Comes the greatest transformation
In the cocoon
Waiting for a birthing moment
In the cocoon
Evolving one day at a time
In moments of despair
Listen
Because your lips might be too heavy
To take on the weight of the world
And speaking may become a chore
As you recall
Flashes of memories
That sting like a bee
Cultivating newness
When your eyes seem hollow
Because you can’t bear
What you are tuned to
Remember to change the channel
Remember to change your focus
Remember that there is light
Remember that there are seasons
Remember that this too shall pass
Remember that you are powerful beyond your imagination and belief
In uncertain times
Remember the beauty that lies within you
