A Short Film Concept – The Art of Silencing Voices

So… a few weeks back, I asked a friend, Azren (polyglot with great video and editing skills), and my sis Ivanna (the talented actress) to transform my storytelling from words to screen. This is the first time that I have written and filmed my creation. It is definitely a learning curve and I will be using this experience to carry me through the next projects.

What did I learn?

  1. Teamwork is awesome. You need people to help you and delegate tasks.
  2. Sit down with the videographer/producer on deciding scenes ( I realized transitions could go so much better).
  3. From a writer standpoint, be flexible with your script even after the drafts. When filming your work, things are bound to change.  I know it is your baby, but the goal is not to always be right, rather is to put your best work out there.
  4. Don’t spite the small beginnings. Share what you create and celebrate your progress along the way.

Drum roll ….
