The 14th International Fashion Gala (IFG) celebrated culture and style, with the theme: Honouring Heritage, Defining Tomorrow. This theme shed light on the importance of innovation while giving credit to past discoveries. On November 1, 2025, visionary designers, both based locally and from across the globe, came together at the Museum of Vancouver. Each piece was a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. The designers crafted narratives that push the boundary of fashion. Attendees found themselves in a world that stirred up conversations about identity and the transformative power of art.

Founder and Executive Producer of IFG, David Chen, created this event because of his love for fashion and art. This event paid homage to traditional clothing and also paved the way for innovation, especially in younger generations. David hopes to bring people together regardless of their cultural background through fashion. He also wants to promote peace, kindness, and love.
Designer, Myles Laphen, when asked about his inspiration, mentioned that it comes from his interaction with materials, drawing muse from a period in time, and the fashion industry. He described his creative process as non-linear, involving mistakes and triumph. He reminded us to trust the creative process and your ability. He also talked about feeling joyful after completing his designs.
Model, Angie Calhoun, member of X̄a’isla (Haisla), Gitxsan, and Duck Bay First Nation, shared that it is important to have indigenous cultural representation at IFG. Her second year of modelling is coming up. Angie’s advice to new models was, “That first show is always scary, you’re nervous behind the scenes, but you’ll get through it and it’s worth it.” Angie also noted that it is crucial to be kind and uplift others.
There was a beautiful ambience and music performance by the artist, “Sean From The Yukon”.

Thrift Chic by Noir

A fusion of fashion and philosophy. It is a hypnotic exploration of texture, shadow and transformation. Each look emerges from the art of thrifting, reimagined through layers of lace, glimmering tulle, and unapologetic attitude. It is where sustainability meets allure – a rebirth of vintage dreams in black.
